What Renters need to look for when renting a home?

• Test all the appliances to make sure they still work.
• Turn on the heating and air conditioning for a few minutes to see if both are operable.
• Bring an inexpensive electrical tester from a hardware store to make sure all the outlets work.
• Test all bathroom utilities: toilet, faucet & shower.
• Check windows for leaks, cracks, and security
• Check & double check drywall for uneven coloring and chips
• Check the ceiling drywall for visible stains, this can be an indication of water damage
